WDSi have completed the design and installation of fibre WAN/Lan and gigabyte wireless
connectivity across a new 50 room purpose-built University student accommodation in the
centre of Sheffield.
WDSi were selected for their expertise in designing and implementing high speed wireless
and wired infrastructure that requires high density usage and robust connectivity. The brief
that WDSi were given was to provide a complete turn key solution for all areas of the
building including common area s and private residences. The solution required secure login
and authentication that would also comply with the new data privacy GDPR rules.
WDSi were able to provide content and malware security filtering to ensure that the service
was for purpose, as well as being able to provide Quality of Service for different applications
such as Netflix/IPlayer/Youtube to improve the experience for users.
Key to the design, was the future proofing of the service for the Internet of Things for smart
switches, sensors, smart TVs and a host of other internet dependent devices.
WDSi topped the service off by providing 24/7/365 remote and onsite support for the venue
and its tenants.
