Requirements / Challenge
This client wanted to invest in a wireless broadband offering – a city wide mesh WiFi network providing internet access to consumers. The challenges facing this project were substantial – the network would cover 100 square kilometres, with mixed terrain and topology; it needed to be robust enough to cope with tropical weather extremes; and it needed to be built in three months.
Solution
The client selected WDSi Group, from a long list of potential suppliers from Europe and the US. In technology demonstrations, WDSi Group’s design proved to be the most robust and cost effective.
WDSi Group provided a turnkey solution, from radio planning and site acquisition to installation, including custom-built monitoring and control systems.
